NOW HIRING
Clinical Co-Directors, Neighborhood Birth Center (2 Positions)
Neighborhood Birth Center (NBC) seeks two qualified midwives to collaborate on the launch of clinical operations for a community birth center in Boston, MA. NBC aims to build a co-directorship model whereby two Clinical Directors share power, leadership, and vision for the organization with the Executive Director. The Clinical Directors will work to develop the clinical practice of a new freestanding, full-spectrum birth center. They will join the Executive Director, Associate Director (a CNM), and Board of Directors to support all aspects of planning until doors open in fall 2027. From the – time of hire until doors open, these leaders will help restructure the roles and agree on an equitable division of labor before launching clinical operations. This is a unique opportunity to share in the experience and learn about the many dimensions of standing up a nonprofit community birth center, while collaboratively building a flexible and supportive culture that values integrity and believes work should be both fun and collaborative. These roles bridge the next year of planning and the launch of clinical operations (Fall 2027 onwards). Applicants may apply solo or in established pairs.
About The Organization
Neighborhood Birth Center (NBC) aims to advance health equity and reproductive justice through the reintegration of community-based midwifery. Everyone deserves to have a safe and transformative birth experience where they feel a sense of agency and are fully supported in their power.
